Following the October floods, the Trust coordinated emergency relief, distributing essentials to 120 displaced families within 72 hours.
When the October floods struck parts of Purba Bardhaman, the IQUZ Galaxy Trust mobilised within hours. Working with local panchayat leaders and partner NGOs, the Trust's relief team identified the most affected households — prioritising elderly residents, families with young children, and those with no means of self-evacuation.
Within 72 hours, pre-packed relief kits containing dry rations, water purification tablets, clothing and basic medicines had reached 120 families across four villages. The Trust also arranged temporary shelter coordination for twelve families whose homes had been partially damaged.
"The speed mattered enormously," said the district relief coordinator who partnered with the Trust. "Getting essentials to people in the first 72 hours is when it counts most."
In the weeks that followed, the Trust continued conducting welfare checks, facilitating government compensation applications, and providing follow-up medical support for displaced elderly residents and children.
